In 1991, Harry V. Quadracci, founder of Quad, faced rising health care costs and inadequate care for his employees. Determined to find a better way, he hired a physician and built a health center on his Wisconsin campus, launching QuadMed with a mission to deliver high-quality, affordable health care.
What began as a solution for Quad’s employees soon expanded as other companies asked, “Can you do that for us?” Thirty years later, our reach has grown to employers nationwide, but our mission remains unchanged and we’re still doing it for the same reason Harry did — because it’s the right thing to do.
QuadMed is supported by Quad, a $3 billion marketing experience company founded by Harry V. Quadracci, now led by his son, Joel Quadracci.

After 10 years of exclusively serving Quad, QuadMed opens its first health center for a Wisconsin manufacturing company when the CEO, a Quad board member, asks Harry, “Can you do that for my employees?” True to Harry’s unconventional style, the deal is sealed with a handshake.
In 2005, QuadMed gains national attention when The Wall Street Journal features the success of the innovative health care model, encouraging other employers to explore onsite health care solutions for their employees.
By 2010, QuadMed implements a national growth strategy, extending services beyond Wisconsin to enhance health care experiences for employees and employers across the United States.
By 2015, QuadMed provides health care services to over 350,000 members, demonstrating a strong commitment to expanding the unique, whole-person model of care.
QuadMed partners with Epic Systems, the nation’s leading EMR provider, to enhance the health care experience with best-in-class technology. The introduction of the MyChart patient portal improves connectivity and information access for members.
In 2020, Kathryn Quadracci Flores, MD, daughter of founder Harry V. Quadracci and sister of Quad CEO Joel Quadracci, becomes CEO of QuadMed. Her leadership reinforces QuadMed’s identity as a family-founded and controlled organization.
QuadMed Everywhere launches, extending the QuadMed model to members nationwide through a virtual primary care solution. This milestone fulfills Harry’s original vision of providing high-quality, accessible health care to his employees wherever they are.
QuadMed unveils a bold new brand that reflects its evolution from a worksite health solutions provider to a health care experience company. The rebrand honors the company’s mission, values, and independence as a family-founded, physician-led organization.
